Hi, this  is day 3 of our trip, Thursday 10/9.

The schedule events of the day were Tower of London, lunch at Cafe Spice Namaste, a walk to the Tate Modern, dinner and then the Lion King at the Lyceum Theater.

After breakfast at the hotel, we took the "tube" to the Tower of London.

The first sight that we encounter was before we entered the grounds.  Below was this sea of red flowers surrounding the tower.

The flowers were red ceramic poppies.  Each poppy represented a solder who died in the WW.

They had a start date in August and will continue to add poppies each day until sometime in November.  Each day they read out of number of solders who died in the wars and place a poppy.

I didn't get the full story of the sculptures of the animals on the walls but they were interesting.

The White Tower.  One of the Beefeater's who lives on the grounds told us many stories about some of the events that took place in it.

We walked to the back of the grounds for a view of the ravens cage and the Tower Bridge.  Yes and there is a story about keeping 6 ravens on the grounds.

After the Tower, we walked to the Cafe Spice Namaste for lunch.  We did view this as our main meal of the day.  The food was great.

After lunch we took a tube and some walking to get to the Tate Modern.  It started to rain just as we got there.  Big building.

The building had some very interesting pieces of art.  Really interesting.

After the Tate we went back to the room to get ready for the evening.  We were still full from lunch so we just had some wine at the place next door to us.

We forgot to take any of our cameras for the evening. There were some really fun shots we could have had.  The Lion King production was great.  I had never seen it before.

That was Thursday.
