Originally we were schedule to go to Versailles on Thursday but Elizabeth had heard that there was going to be a strike on that day so she was able to change our group to to Tuesday but at a later time.
Also, Elizabeth would not be joining us because some physical problems would not allow her to walk. Elizabeth asked Sylvie to be our guide for the day. We took a train to and from Vernon. From the train station we walked to and from Versailles.
Walking up to Versailles, the buildings just kept getting bigger and bigger. The lines in the pictures are just to buy the tickets. The summer months are even worst. With our tour we got to go around all those lines.
We had to kill some time before going in so we went to the back and saw some of the gardens.
After the tour of the inside, after 12, we were basically on our own.
We walked down to the Apollo water fountain and found a place to eat. Really, really good food.
After lunch, we went back to Paris.
We had dinner at the Champs de Mars and then went on a river cruise. It was a beautiful night for it.
I know, not very exciting, but it would be if you were here.
Waiting for the Metro to catch a train to Vernon.
Crossing the street to Versillas.
The line just to buy tickets.
Some of the gardens.
These are the top of the steps where the king would greet people.
Walking up the stairs, visitors would not see Versailles yet.
Only reaching the top of the steps would they start seeing all the grandure.
Not going to be able to comment a lot on the Versailles. There was a lot of things to see. Our tour guide Sulvie did a great job with the replacement for Elizabeth.
Hall of mirrors.
Went to lunch.
On our way back to Paris.
Vernon train station.
While back at Paris, Sharon and I went and had a drink.
Our first night shot of the tower, while we were getting ready
Our dinner house.
Our first night shot of he canaries.
