The post is for Wednesday, 10/8.
It would appear that we didn't leave some blocks of time for blogging in our daily schedule. Plus a very slow WiFi connection.
OK, enough of the excuses. The Wednesday schedule major events were to take a tour called SOHO International Food, a stop at the National Gallery and dinner at Rules. There were some other potential things to see but they didn't happen.
To get to the food tour we walked. Our walk took us pass Buckingham Palace. There was no changing of the guard though when we went by it.
Yes, it has been wet. So far the rain has been a lot like Portland, not a show stopper.
One of the reasons for this tour is that Sharon and I like food. But the reason that sealed the deal was Sharon took a food tour from this person, Sara, in Rome.
Sara had stated on the blog not to have breakfast, we should have listened. We had many excellent foods and drink during the 4 hour walk, talk and eat, There were 9 stops during the 4 hours.
Hot chocolate made the Italian way. Oh it was good.
According to Sara, one of the few places that make a really nice fish and chips plus the fact they were providing micro brew type ales. She also told them that Sharon and I were from Portland, Oregon. This place knew about Portland micro brews and were trying to start similar here in SOHO. Felt a little on the spot as they wanted to know what we thought of their beers. They were good.
This was suppose to be a small taste of what they served, but for Sharon and I it was a big meal. This was a serving for one.
Fresh Mexican tacos. Great! I was ready to come back for more of these. The was the serving size for two for the tour tasting.
Sara our food guide. Oh, did I mention that Sharon and I were the only people on the tour? We had our own designed tour and Sara changed some things just for us. Nice.
We had a proper tea and then finished the tour with some wine.
The next stop was the National Gallery.
One of the many.
The halls were huge as any other museum.
We had entertained the idea of going to see Harrod's but because of the time we went back our room to get ready for the evening meal at Rules.
This image was taken from the web as we failed to take our own.

We started out in the bar as our cab got us there before our table we ready.
The wine for the evening
The salad.
Our meal, which was a meal for two. Beef and yorkshire pudding.
I ended our wonderful meal with a cappuccino.
That food tour sounded fabulous. It must have been great to see Sara again.
ReplyDeleteIt does sound like a fabulous tour - and to be the only people on it - how special! Seeing Sara's photo brings back fun memories of our tour!
